A Gentle Reminder

 Fats and Sugar

At a health seminar held last month, I was reminded of diets and obesity.
Life is so tough.
You have to count the numbers when you eat.
You have been told to work hard, earn a lot of money, keep your pockets full and earn to last a lifetime.
I have been told that whenever I see my parents back home. In their nineties, they still intend to be independent financially and take pains to make sure what comes out of their pockets must not be more than what goes in.
So, do you eat to live or live to eat ?
If you eat to live, why bother to save so much? You cannot consume more than 2 plates of noodles at one go.
If you live to eat, then all that are shown below are gentle reminders.
Make a wise choice...

A plate of the all time favourite nasi lemak will mean 3 teaspoons of fat; without chicken. All plain only.
The chicken rice story is new; only half a teaspoon of fats if you consume a plate of it.

Roti canai a piece will add 1.5 teaspoon of fats into your body. But I know if you take tosei; it's fat free.
A bowl of curry mee is detrimental; 7.5 teaspoons of fats ! Watch out. A good solution is; nimble a spoonful.

Oh dear; a can of coca cola is a no no for diabetic sufferers as 8 teaspoons of sugar go into your blood stream and nullifies whatever medication given.
Look at the potential sugar-adding mountain dew drink; count the spoonfuls yourself.
However thirsty or tempted you are to them...think wisely.
Now you know why I hardly drink frizzy stuff...full of health challenging components !
You are never too young to acquire good eating habits.
Keep yourself away from harm.

Even natural fruits can be high in sugar content except they are less health threatening...
Look at the bottle of sauces displayed; they have a story too.
So; it's again choices, choices, choices...

As one grows older, the numbers attached to sugar and fats are naturally high...eat less and exercise more.
That session caused me a lot of aches in the body...
You exercise; but it must be moderate too; I never knew of body aches but now I do know them.
Moderation is the word.

Be moderate.
