The nation votes.
Today the queues were phenomenal.
I don't remember voting centers carrying such crowds or as my memory gone haywire?
Dad insisted we go early to deliver our duty and so we were there by 8am.
So I thought we were early...
This queue greeted us. What? To line up along it ?
Look it's really long...
I was about to quit...
...till I saw the lame and weak queued. I have only myself to be ashamed of.
So, after confirming my status at the centre, I had to line up again; this time to the room allocated.
It was another long wait; long enough for stories to strike my ears. Oh, about house prices escalating; where to buy houses now; the impossibility of possessing anything affordable...then there is this touching detail ; that now that they have aged and it's a chore to walk; they cannot even accept the children's offer to travel. Then there is this guilt among them; whether they are obliged to look after the grandchildren as their spirits are willing but their flesh is weak. Old neighbors caught up with one another and it is during times like these that they meet again...all thanks to election times.
Meanwhile, the queue continued to mount and increase...outside SMK Seafield.
Outside the Bestari School in USJ5...Allie ran towards the daughters of mine and fed them milo, bananas, biscuits while other house help brought umbrellas and the like for the pampered generation.
What a scenario; surely the nation has evolved !
This is the first time the girls are voting; it also goes to show I have indeed qualified myself into the golden era;
I will be considered a senior citizen at the next election and am entitled to no queuing privilege?
After performing our duties to the nation; it's time for celebration at Melur's.
The crowd was huge and the wait was again long; today everything is long !
But this wait was worth it; sumptuous meal cooked by an Indian proprietor for the Chinese and Malays.
Whereas in the world can such ethnicity assimilate?
Love Malaysia.

I have just tinkled my dear parents.
This is their thirteenth election; they grew graciously with the nation.
They are casting their votes.
This is especially meaningful to my father who came here 80 years ago to look for his destiny.
It is in Malaysia that he found it.

God bless my parents.

Raja kita, Selamat bertakhta,
