Full Moon

The month went by. The busyness makes one forget time and place. So it was a zombie time. You forget to look pretty and you are at the beck and call of the little one. But...on the hind side, it was again another milestone experience to be the grandmother for the first time.
A grandmother,
I am still trying to reconnect with the new status. I must confess I am indeed blessed to be Emily's grandmum and I do not get enough of her despite her occasional long session of non stop wailing; the sleepless nights when she chooses to stay awake and her ceaseless big and small motions calls. Handling her for the last one month reminded me of my own days but Grace is fortunate to have so many supporters around her. There are so many hands ready to handle the bundle of joy so the new mother is not so tired out.
Friends and relatives limed up to give good wishes and gifts and it's just another cycle of life. New borns are only a reminder that life goes on. Getting old enough to be a grandmum is also another reminder that we get older by the year.

Anyway, to celebrate the first month, the usual pomp and fuss was done and it marks the start of a new journey for the little one. The journey is indeed long and I pray for God's protection and favour upon her life for the days ahead. Even before she was born, the word joy has always been connected to her in my prayers. So, I pray she will be a joy to everyone around her and that she will be a true and reliable friend to many.

Dear Emily, it is indeed a pleasure to hold you in my arms and however many times you choose to be fussy, it's not easy to get tired of you.

Your mother's sisters are just as excited. Sara went all out to prepare you lovely cakes and rushes to see you before she leaves for work and looks for you every night when she comes home. She sure is disappointed when she doesn't get  a chance to hold you. Aunty Esther allows you to mess up her toilet; just for your sake she puts up with anything, So, you see, you are so well loved. Everyone was around to make sure your party went on well.

Papa Aaron put up the flags and lined the pools with balloons to create the festivity and mood.

Balloons float for you on your big day.

Lovely cakes and toppings to colour your day.

Emily, do you like the special cake made for you? Aunt Sara took a whole evening and morning without pause to complete her mission for you, Such is her love for you, By the way, she only goes to such great length for those she truly cares. Your cake is out of the world.

Look at the truck that came to serve us for the evening, It's American cuisine; the cowboys love it!
Look at the excited Aunt Esther. She tried to change the names of the menu, Uncle Nizar complied cheerfully, Uncle Nizar's team was fantastic. They served at our commands !

Congratulations to the happy couple; Aaron and Grace.
Emily is from a godly lineage.
Stay faithful to God, Emily.

But what a meaningful birth when I had two ex-Seafieldians helping us. Dr. Lim Sze Wern to help Grace during her pangs of childbirth and Nizar to serve us food during the full moon celebration. Both students have also added pride to the occasion and I am truly a happy teacher to see them in their vocations. What more can I ask?

Look at Emily.
My prayer is that you will grow up in a joyful spirit bringing love and joy to everyone.
Jeremiah 29:11 is dedicated to you.
Grow up well and with great integrity.

God Bless Emily.
