Intelligent

Call them creatures but they instructions better than human beings; call them animals but they are full of emotions and respond warmly to the human race. They are indeed adorable, obedient and intelligent.
The elephant; more endearly known as "The Chang" in Thailand is to behold.

The Maetaeng Elephant Park is not to be missed if you do go to Chiangmai.
At first, we were wondering what would tourists be seeing; what can elephants do?
How do we respond to them?
You will be in for a pleasant surprise.

Pretty Lay Suan does not look her age; guess it. You will fail.
Posing with the Chang, the picture speaks a thousand words.
She was all ready for the show. At one point of the show, she shared that as parents we can only hope that our children will be able to make sensible decisions in life, may it be a career or a life partner. We can only put the cards before them and hopefully all the years of nurturing will not be futile. We spoke of our qualms and fears but later decide that we would lay them before God's hands and pray for divine intervention at every juncture.
So, that's the thought for the day.

Next, we turned our eyes to the show of the day.
The elephants are well trained and taught to perform the many tasks from entertaining to providing rides.
Tourists were informed that the elephant will carry them across streams and jungle terrain to enjoy the flora and fauna to the chagrin of my second daughter who is so against them being mistreated. She has a soft spot for the animal and finds it abhorrent that they had to perform such tasks.

Next, we see them lining up for the next feat.
Soccer !

Yes, we were most amazed at the way the elephants played the game as a team and kicking the ball towards the goal pole. It was a good experience watching them; unbelievable.

How about that sexy kick ? It got the audience in stitches and it's simply hilarious ! What an adorable kick.

What next? They are again lined up for another great performance. Yes, they put on their dancing shoes; swaying away to hits of the sixties and got all cameras on them. In fact, some of the onlookers forgot to behave and started to get into other people's ways by blocking views. So, some were exhilarated while others got into fits as their views were blocked! Oh how the elephant can affect us.

It was indeed fun to watch them dancing and performing without parameters.
How even the elephant can respond to theories of learning; in fact they learn better than some humans.

If you do not believe, look at the next challenge.

 They can draw.
They take instructions well and through practice become the best artists.
I am ashamed of myself because I cannot draw like them.

 See what I mean?
We must indeed encourage the less motivated in school and tell them the elephant story.
Can they be better than the elephant?
How do we transmit the message?
Splendid performance.

At the end of the show, they were rewarded with bananas and money.
They are worth the rewards.
What an experience and so unforgettable.
The Mataeng Elephant Park show is worth the visit.
Do not miss it.
