I told you.
The school is ever busy; plagued by uncountable activities and visits.
You wonder at wisdom; to allow or not to. In the name of creativity and warm gestures you have to concede to them. So, yesterday we had another counterpart paying us a visit right from the land of the one not under the horn bill but the one below the wind ; Sabah.
KK High. Another cluster school with niche areas in Mathematics and Local Culture.
Cluster schools have the mandate to form local and international links for learning and exchange of ideas.
So, they say they have heard about our choir over U tube and wanted to hear us live.
They also wanted to see how we function at work.
So, we propose visiting them too ?
The actual link is in teacher Emily. She left us last year for her hometown and so she's back again; this time with her battalion from Sabah.
The participants were very proactive. They marched in with their multi-ethnic costumes without fear but with much pride. Sabah is indeed a colourful state with her ethnicity so profound. No wonder the niche area of the school is related to her rich culture.
Sabah has natives from the Bajaus, Muruts, Kadazans and inter-marriages are rampant. Some of the faces are a mixture of ethnicity and very beautiful. So, they showed and educated us through the display of costumes and accessories. It is good for us the urbanites to see natural beauty and culture; a refreshing change.
A photo for the linkage album; to be etched in our memory.
The choir sang and exhibited their vocal mastery. You know something; the school choir evokes a lot of nostalgia and good feelings. The team is hardworking and trained to do their best. They are the school's pride to be seen and felt. They sang their hearts out; ever ready like the EverReady battery.
So they sang many songs including this local medley of ever green songs.
Our dear counterparts gave their best too. They danced and danced; their niche area.
So it is indeed a privilege to be visited by them and we exchange our strengths. We see and learn from one another. Who can stop learning? Only when you choose to stop yourself.
We observe the accessory they put on. These beads cost RM500.00; we thought it was expensive but they told us that they are very intricate and much time and effort are taken up. So the cost is in the labour.
Like the Thais, the Sabahans love to dance. So they urge us to dance with them and danced we did.
It was another learning experience enriching our lives.
Thank you for the visit; KK High.
